NotesItsuryo Shiozaki was born in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan in Meiji 17 (1884). He attended the Tokyo School of Art, and by age 13 was exhibiting in Ueno Park, Tokyo. He was a ten-time recipient of the Emperor's art prize. He is known for depiction of flowers and birds as in this magnificent Eagle. Shiozaki died in Tokyo on Showa 49 (1974).
