NotesJeanne Hébuterne was a French painter and Amedeo Modigliani's partner, muse, and the subject of many of his most famous portraits. She was an art student when they met in 1917, and they became inseparable, having a daughter together. After Modigliani died from tuberculosis in 1920, Hébuterne, who was pregnant with their second child, committed suicide two days later.
