Note:
This magnificent portrait shows Fredenthal's incredible power for portraiture. The subject is Sherry, a young, attractive African-American woman also depicted by John Wilson (1922-2015) in 1976. The identity of the sitter is a mystery, known to major Boston and New York artists alike, she must have been prominent in the art world of the 1960s-70s. Any help from viewers with any knowledge of Sherry will be greatly appreciated.
