NotesIrving Block was a painter and muralist. Born in New York, He earned a B.S. Degree from New York University and also studied at the National Academy of Design and in Paris at Grande Chaumiere. He settled in Studio City, California where he exhibited with the California Watercolor Society and was a professor in the Art Department at California State University, Northridge. He completed a mural for the American Medical Building for the 1937 World's Fair and also for the United States Treasury Department.
