NotesThe Austrian painter and graphic artist Hans Frank, was born in Vienna. He was a member of the local artist house since 1921. He lived in Vienna as well as in Tyrol. He was the twin brother of artist Leo Frank, also a woodcut artist. Frank studied at the School of Applied Arts in Vienna with Kenner and later (1907-1911) with Rumpler at the Vienna Academy. Frank's work is distinguished by a refined sense of color and line. His favorite motifs were birds and forest animals depicted in their natural habitats.
