NotesA contemporary California printmaker and painter, Stephen Raul Anaya studied art at both the University of Southern California and at U.C.L.A. Stephen Anaya first began exhibiting his art in 1971 and his first solo exhibition was held at the University of Wisconsin in 1977. Since that time his original prints have been exhibited throughout the United States as well as internationally in such countries as Brazil, Venezuela, Latvia and Great Britain.
An art educator, Stephen Anaya has taught at such institutions as U.C.L.A., the Maryland Institute and, from 1993 to 2006, at the Santa Monica College, California. Today such institutions as the Art Institute of Chicago, South Dakota University, University of South Carolina, University of Georgia, Yale University, Springfield Museum and the Library of Congress, Washington, DC, include examples of Stephen Raul Anaya’s art in their permanent collections.
