NotesClaude Fossoux was born in Paris in 1946. He took art lessons at the Paris National School of Fine Arts, where he was influenced by two lecturers who taught him the techniques of the Grand masters of the Louvre and the Flemish Painters. A lover of Provence, he has found there his principal sources of inspiration: a warmth and luxuriance of colors, omnipresence of nature and light, and a loveliness of the country-houses. Fossoux is considered a leader in the post-impressionistic movement.
