NotesScott and his wife, Maxine, came to Alaska over 50 years ago, and the beauty of the state had Scott grabbing his paintbrushes right from the start. Could he capture the stark reality of the country? In the early days, while homesteading at Kenny Lake in the Copper River Valley, Scott painted the lakes and wildlife of the Wrangell mountain range. After his move to Anchorage, he began to paint the spectacular views of Mount McKinley along with the mystic beauty of southeast Alaska. Scott has been known to hike for miles to find a model for a painting, even if its nothing more than the charm of a dead tree or an old abandoned miners cabin.

Scott's paintings have won numerous awards, and treasured pieces can be found in many Alaskan homes, as well as private collections around the world. He has exhibited in California and Hawaii, and his art graces the wall of the White House as well as the office of the President of Germany.
