NotesJoan Ponc was born in Barcelona in 1927. He studied in the studio of Ramon Rogent and at the Academia de Artes Plasticas, Barcelona.
In 1947, with the poet Brossa, he founded the review "Argol", and in 1948 he was a founding member of "Dau al Set", together with the painters Tapies, Cuixart and Tharrats, the poet Brossa and the philosopher Arnau Puig. He later founded the school called "L'Espai" in Sao Paulo.

Joan Ponc died in Barcelona in 1984 .
