NotesSparks was Born on 24 September 1870 in St Pancras, Middlesex, England. He was a sculptor and painter of miniatures. He married Frances Edith Barrett in 1898 in Islington, London. They had three children: Gladys Edith, Wilfred Ronald, and Lionel Francis Sparks. He died in 1916, reportedly from blood poisoning, a condition said to have resulted from the common practice among artists of shaping paintbrushes with their lips.
