NotesDmitry Vasilievich Titov – Russian artist, follower of the traditions of the Russian lyrical landscape. In his works he proceeded from the best traditions of Russian national painting, combined the lyrical landscape principle with the epic perception of nature. Graduated from the Leningrad Art School, where he studied under M. Aslamazyan and V. Oreshnikov (1939). Immediately after graduation, he went to the front. Demobilized in 1943 due to injury, he settled in Moscow and quickly entered into communication with the artists of the capital. His landscapes were recognized by S. Gerasimov, P. Sokolov-Skal and V. Fedorovsky. In 1951, he took part in the design of the pavilions of the All-Russian Exhibition Center, successfully completed an order for the new building of Moscow State University. In 1951, at the All-Union Art Exhibition, his painting “Spring is Ringing” received a wide response. He also took part in all-Union exhibitions in 1954 and 1957. Among the forest landscapes of the artist, the most famous is his painting “The Millennial Oak”, in which the legacy of the great Russian landscape painter I.I. Shishkin. Works were purchased from the collection of the Museum of the History of the City of Moscow, the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia (Moscow).


В своих произведениях исходил из лучших традиций русской национальной живописи, соединял лирическое пейзажное начало с эпическим восприятием природы. Окончил Ленинградское художественное училище, где обучался у М. Асламазяна и В. Орешникова (1939). Сразу Сразу после окончания училища ушел на фронт. Демобилизованный в 1943-м по ранению, поселился в Москве и быстро вошёл в общение с художниками столицы. Его пейзажи получили признание С. Герасимова, П. Соколова-Скаля и В. Федоровского. В 1951-м принимал участие в оформлении павильонов ВВЦ, успешно выполнил заказ для нового здания МГУ. В 1951-м на Всесоюзной художественной выставке широкий резонанс получила его картина «Весна звенит». Участвовал также во всесоюзных выставках 1954 и 1957 годов. Среди лесных пейзажей художника наиболее известно его полотно «Тысячелетний дуб», в котором по-новому раскрыто наследие великого русского пейзажиста И.И. Шишкина. Работы приобретены в коллекции Музея истории города Москвы, Музея современной истории России (Москва).
