NotesElizabeth Warren married the artist Todd Lindenmuth, whom she met in Provincetown, and with whom she had two children. Both Todd and Elizabeth were very active in Provincetown, but in 1934, they visited St. Augustine, Florida and there they established a winter studio in the Fatio House on Aviles Street and became very active, respected members of that arts community. In 1940, the couple moved permanently to St. Augustine. "They never owned a car, and sought subjects on long walks around St. Augustine." This magnificent print, Busy Day, offers an insight into the depressing life of African-Americans in the rural South in the 1930s.
